@tkoola lol yes! I have had them served to me as ice cubes and even mini cheese canapes. I kind of am a bit sick of that shape now.

@danielsantos It sounds like we use it in a v similar way, whatevever we call that linked note bit! A couple of people might be worth following on here re note-taking @garo and @chrisaldrich.

@danielsantos Yes I am. I basically have Obsidian with me all the time and open permanently on the desktop. Use it for ’second brain’ stuff and also to try and collect a zettelkasten of sorts to help my own writing.

@paulmccafferty oh nice. Mine is still in Goodreads, partially made. I hope I can export it one day and take back control of it like you have done with yours!

@Annie Hi I moved away from Wordpress for similar reasons...also worth thinking about blot which takes a folder of images and markdown and turns it into a site. I am running it as an Obsidian vault with no need to takle any other interface...

@tkoola c’mon what happened to your sisu? 😉

@tkoola yup I like jätkäsaari too. Maybe that area has a chance soon to be something more than a suburb. Always loved the canal there anyway.

@tkoola ruolahti I know these places well….

@alpower thanks so much! The story of the catacombs is also covered in the book Paris Revealed by Stephen Clarke if I remember correctly.

@de Also I wrote something about the Paris Catacombs - Paris City of the Night which for me is a must see, yes a little spooky but it tells the history of the city that compliments it's boulevards above ground.

@de Thanks for the page I love it and found some new and interesting leads for myself. I would suggest a few additions.
- Parisians by Graham Robb is a fantastic book that brings historic people to life in that city. - Paris Revealed by Stephen Clarke

@garo sounds like a good book! I have added it to my summer reading list!

@SamHawken Yes electrifying book still after all this time. I got so much out of my reread! I noticed you are a bit of a writer yourself. I have put The Night Charter on my summer reading list.

@numericcitizen. Oh thats funny I literally moved over my main site to blot today decladtwo. I guess you are right and there is a risk with a one man shop but I had to leave Wordpress it's a great website builder but for a simple clean blogging tool it had grown a bit cumbersome for me. Ghost I was looking at seriously but I am an avid Obsidian user so the temptation of using a vault to manage my website was too great! Also now my posts/notes are in markdown so I feel in control of them again.

@garo Hey Justin! So I found you and @chrisaldrich over here. I got alot out of The Extended Mind and was a little surprised at its negative reception over in the Obsidian Book Club. I think we all ran out of gas with work, two books and trying to add notes to the vault. Maybe I will write a quick review as I feel like it is worth a read, and would recommend it.

@jmanes thanks! It was a beautiful morning…so I took the long way to work via the shore and got a few great photos

@ridwan Yeah I think i am ok with there being no community on blot but a nice low friction website tool. I am new to micro.blog but am enjoying a great community over here, so maybe both can live side by side.

@ridwan thanks! hey i noticed you are using blot.im. I am about to move my main blog over to blot from wordpress. How have you found the service. Personally i am tired of the wordpress backend and new block editor. Looking forward to writing everything in markdown.

@alanralph Did you make many?

@jabel Great post. I made a reply .You have some interesting thoughts about the aesthetics of the Mix tape with reference to wabi-sabi . You might be interested in the book Lost Japan by Alex Kerr which I reviewed on my main website here or at least talked about some interesting themes that stem from the book. If you are interested in Japan, its aesthetics and culture at all I strongly recommend it.

@warner thanks for posting it. Such a savage takedown and right in the money.

@jabel not exactly the same but in that spirit i was just listening to a podcast about mixtapes. I am a big fan of these home made analog objects.

@czottmann 👍I am in thanks!

@czottmann Any left? Looks full of potential.

@SamHawken great advice. I am really enjoying these emoji 'tags'.
